Default thoughts on this OTC bronze badge

hi all
have been offered this badge and would like your thoughts.
i have a little collection of bronze badges hapening and this caught my eye but a couple of questions.
what period is it? and is it a hat or collar (being lugged not blades)
the other thing is it seems to have the title UPPINGHAM overlayed on scroll?
thanks

Default Uppingham school OTC

This looks to me to be an Officers Bronze cap/collar badge for Uppingham School OTC made from a Leicestershire bronze left hand collar badge. Probably due to the fact that there were not many OSD badges required for the OTC.

It's not the first time I've seen a badge like this. One was one of the Surrey schools (Reigate?) with a Queens used as the backing. I think it's on the OTC section of the forum.

This item is a cap badge and the bronze badge is still worn by members of Uppingham School Combined Cadet Force (the very latest issue is made by London Badge & Button Co and is totally flat on the back). It could be as recent as 5 years old or could be 50 years old
(BTW I sometimes work with the school and have obtained both patterns of cap badge form them in recent times)
