Default Palestine Police badges

Hi all,
I've often seen a lot of Palestine Police badges on ebay. They seem to be among the easiest to find. Were there so many of them? And are all these badges genuine?

I'm slowly planning to have a British Colonial Police collection so looking around to see what's available before taking the plunge..

I generally pick up only hallmark/silver badges but sometimes one has to go for brass/white metal, but now the fakers have got so good it's difficult to tell from a photo.. so always makes me nervous to find many examples of a badge on ebay!

I have been collecting PP material for many years. I have always considered the most of the bodges you see on eBay are fakes, there are far too many of them.

Given your interest, any ideas what this patch is?

To be honest I am not sure, but I've always considered it to be a cloth version of the Sgt's badge which was worn above the stripes, possibly for a great coat.
This is the metal version
