Any clues anyone ? Unknown cap badge Stamped to rear Firmin London , with slider , size 2." By 2"

I used to visit an old Gallipoli veteran (10/1810 Arthur Samuel FIRMIN). One of his prized possessions was a Firmin & Sons brass button. Didn't have the heart to tell him that there were TINS of them around (and still are today....)
