Queen's Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry
Has any member a history which covers the Second World War activities of the two regiments of QORGY - 54 (QORGY) Anti-Tank Regt RA and 64 (QORGY) Anti-Tank Regt RA. The former fought in NW Europe and the latter in Tunisia and Italy. I'm particularly interested to learn the composition - by Batteries - of the two units. Any information, images or links would be much appreciated. Thanks. Mike

64th Anti Tank QOGY
My dad was in the 64th Anti Tank QOGY I have researched them quite a lot and also have obtained part of the war diaries from the National Archives at Kew. He was with them throughout the war fighting in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy until being wounded at Monte Casino and transferred from front line duties. If you have any questions I might answer let me know.

Hello chap,
I had a great-great uncle that served with the QOGY in Tunisia. The only information I have on him is that he died of accidental suffocation on 17th May 1943 aged 39, during the North Africa Campaign. Also, that he is buried in Medjez-El-Bab War cemetery in Tunisia. His name was Thomas James Harris. |
