I was told that the first badge, yellow Lion was not heraldically correct therefore the red one was produced.

Officers Scottish Yeomanry with title, can't see why one without the title would be produced - except to reduce cost! The yellow lion looks more like a teddy bear!

Soldiers beret badge worn on the SCOTS DG grey beret, yellow lion.
This was apparently a temporary measure pending manufacture of a metal badge worn on a black backing. Tim

Both the officer bullion beret badge and cloth OR beret badges are rare beasts these days. Both quite hard to find.
I'm also still looking for a pair of B (Lanarkshire and Queen's Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry) Squadron and also the OR's cloth badge with the red lion. Mick
