What's badge is this please
IMG_0200.jpgHello,
I do voluntary work at The Imperial war Museum at Dxford and a visitor asked if I could identify this badge. It is probably a Chukah Partridge or francolin and the visitor said that her relative was one of 50 or so men selected for special ops in Burma, ex Dorset regiment. Also '143 special service co' seems to be an important part of the info. Any help most gratefully received about the badge or the men or the activities they got up to! |

The badge is South West District, or prior to 1943 it was 8th Corps 1st Pattern.

Special ops in Burma.
Too much info to type out. To start with track down the following books: Burma Drop by John Beamish. Grand father Long Legs by Ian Morrison And related: Pai Naa. By Thatcher & Cross. Our Man In Malaya. By Margaret Shennan. Operations Most Secret, Special Operations Executive in the Malayan Theatre. By Ian Trenowden. Mike |

That is a very large badge, or do you have very small hands?

That's it exactly correct!
The drawing was deliberately enlarged to help with identification I think. Thanks for the information |
