Default Victorian 2nd Grenadier Guards + QVC PRDG Button

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could confirm that the first button is indeed a 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards, and if so, what date range, as I cant find one online other than 'standard' QVC buttons

The second button i have seen listed as Grenadier Guards, but it reads (to my eyes) PRDG ?!...any help would be VERY welcome

the button on the left back mark is Dowler & Sons Birmingham, the one on the right is Jennens & Co London

Thanks people

The second button (PRDG) is in fact to the 7th (the Princess Royal's) Dragoon Guards.

I have a feeling I should know the first button - but can't place it at the moment.

Hi

First button = 2nd Dragoon Gds (O/R's)

Second button = (as Ian says) 7th Dragoon Gds (Officers)

I don't thing any of the Guards Regiments distinguish battalions on their buttons.

Hi Andy

Correct! Early buttons of the Scots Guards might be misinterpreted as doing so as they include a "3" in the design but of course this relates to the 3rd Regiment Of Foot Guards, not a battalion.
