Default DM Militia Button For ID

Another button for ID from the lot I bought today. I'm assuming its militia but what unit I'm unsure? I've found pictures of Durham Militia buttons online but none like this! This button will be getting sold at some point.

Thanks, Phil

Hello Phil

The closest I can find is, indeed, the Durham Militia but that one has the crown over DM all within a circle, rather than the crown above as in yours.

It could, of course, be a variant. Goodness knows there are enough variants out there to fill a book or two!

Regards
Roger

Thanks Roger. This was found in Devon if it helps? I thought at first maybe the obvious Devon Militia but the only buttons I can find of them online are later two piece by the looks of it.

Hello Phil

Had a quick look through the Devon militia buttons section but nothing that even comes close. Nothing for Local Militia either.

the Durham Militia is certainly a lot closer in match than anything Devon can come up with!

Thanks for your help Roger. There's a few militia/volunteer buttons in the lot I had delivered today so unless I can figure out what they are I'll probably be needing help with them too at some point!

Phil
