Gurkha signals badge
Can anyone assist me please.
I have recently obtained a gurkha signals bi-metal cap badge that i choose to call non-voided. I only collect signals badges and this badge is the first i have come across where the gap between jimmy and the crown and the legs of jimmy and the kukri are not voided. Could this be an early version of the badge from when the regiment changed badges in 1954 from the normal jimmy badge to the new one or is this a case of the white metal has not been cut away. Lugs are quite long more like a badge for the sd cap. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Kind regards chris |

Gurkha sigs
I think this is one that did not get picked up by quailty control when made. I once had a Royal Engineer anodised badge where the E11R in the centre was not voided. Hope this helps.

As Jerry said just a badly finished badge and in this hobby unlike stamps this doesn't make it desirable... The opposite I'm afraid.

Thanks Guys.
Not colledcting anything but Commonwealth Signals badges I though I may have had a little find. Will just have to stick to the fact it is an early Bi-metal badge pre Anodisation. Thanks for your efforts on my behalf. |
