Default Clothing and Textile Inspectorate

Hi Guys,

I am doing some research into New Metal cap badges and looking into the era of the 1970's when they were first raised as a replacement to anodised aluminium.

A military entity known as the Clothing and Textile Inspectorate (C&T) was to the fore into looking into a replacement for A/A badges and was split into (at least) three separate departments. These were known as:

C&T1
C&T2
C&T3

Looking at the documentation of the time it appears (to me) that:

C&T1 was the technical knowledge wing
C&T2 were the people (using C&T1's expertise) who actually looked into any new proposals and their military suitability
C&T3 were responsible for controlling finances for new equipment etc.

Each department was under the command of a Colonel of the British Army.

Can any member confirm/correct the above three departments and give their proper full names?

Regards,

Chris
