RFC maker variation?

Hello All, and Happy Easter!

As regards *this* RFC badge, instead of all three letter backgrounds being pebbled, the background of the “F” on this example is horizontally reeded, while the background of “R” and “C” are pebbled. I assume it’s simply a manufacturing variation?

Curious. What is its size? Cap badges are circa 45 x 40 mm. I suppose it is a collar badge judging from the voiding between the letters and wreath and the size of the wreath in comparison to the letters.
