Any ideas - Londonderry connection, militia?
Hi all,
Picked up a lot of items today and among of them there was as well this button - QVC, "No Surrender 1688". Like I understand it was a war cry during siege of Derry/Londonderry. Any ideas what it Is? Could it be a Tyrone militia related? Thanks

I am always looking early (pre 1939) British ribbon bars with foreign awards; interesting devices or just different construction solutions. Also I am seeking Royal Dublin Fusiliers items. I am always looking early (pre 1939) British ribbon bars with foreign awards; interesting devices or just different construction solutions. Also I am seeking Royal Dublin Fusiliers items. I can help in small scale to research RDF soldiers (MICs, medal rolls, additional information, etc).

Yes, they go back centuries - I think you're closer with your suggestion of Militia although I would'nt think it's a 'Derry unit rather than Tyrone.

I don't think it is Militia.
Limerick and Londonderry have a castle as part of their design but nothing matches this button. A nice looking button though but I can't find any Militia connection. Cheerio, Roy
