Default Non-military pins & What car??

OK, here's a civilian challenge for you and I'm hoping the Brits can help with some. Firstly, the maltese cross pins. I was told they were Knights Templar member's pins but all the KT stuff I can find doesn't have crossed swords in the angles of the cross like these do. They are marked BALFOUR on the backs making them US made. Next, the SOE. Son's of England? To me it means Senior Officer Escort but I've seen too many of these to be that. I've got a few different colours as well, white and then blue.

How about the cufflinks then?? Hillman? Austin? Vauxhall? What model year? I'm curious.

Next would be the Galt fob. Galt Ontario. A polo club or something? Google searches don't turn up much on A THRING.

Lastly the CEC pin. I would think that was a geographic feature, an island, continent with an archipelago above it?

Thanks all. I cain't sell it if I can't ID it.

Default Triumph Herald!

By Jove, I think you've got it! The cuff links even feature the bonnet latches behind the wheel wells. Well done you.

Thanks.

Default Thanks

Thanks Alex.

Which reminds me of the joke about Ole who stood up in his Sons of Norway club meeting and asked if they could change the club name to Sons of Bitches.
"Why?," asked the chairman.

Because I have some friends from Sweden who want to join.

The Sons of England association was formed in South Africa and Canada by people who were British born but living in those countries. Attached a badge in the collection for interest.

Possibly Council for Exceptional Children ?

Founded in 1922 at Teacher's College , Columbia University.
Today there are approx. 288 student chapters and 269 state, local and provisional chapters in the United States and Canada.

It looks to me that the pin shows a very simplistic image of the USA (possibly with Hawaiin Islands).

The Galt, Ontario fob looks like a bottle opener to me. The only reference to 1873 was the date that the Credit Valley Railway built Freight and Passenger buildings in Galt. A. Thring must be a guys name, perhaps a worker on the buildings.

Ice polo ? Date is 1873.

"these games were brought to North America and several similar winter games using informal rules as they were developed, such as "shinny" and "ice polo". The contemporary sport of ice hockey was developed in Canada, most notably in Montreal, where the first indoor hockey game was played on March 3, 1875;

There was a family called Thring in the Galt area at that time (found Edward Bunker Thring 1844–1917) , daughter Margaret dob 14 Dec 1873.

Thanks on the Sons of England. That's good to know. It also explains why I would be finding these in Canada. I find Sons of Norway pins over here too.

The A. THRING Galt fob is only about 3/4" tall so not likely a bottle opener. I think most stuff was corked in 1873 if that's the actual date of this creation. I thought about that railway thing too. Perhaps those are spike hammers and not polo mallets though it does look sort of like a playing arena beside them.

The mystery continues.

CEC, I'm still not sold.
