Default Canadian WW2 'Bermuda' Patch

I searched and couldn't find anything.

The yellow 'Bermuda Jamaica' lozenge formation patch had appeared in many early publications on WW2 Canadian formation flashes. Then I recall reading that it was pure fantasy.

So my question is, was the yellow patch ever worn, officially or unofficially?

That is a very good question, I would like to know the answer my self. I have a fairly deep WWII Canadian shoulder flash collection and have yet to see one. Maybe Bill has one in his collection?

There is a thread on the subject of the Y Force patch.

Bill A's opinion is 'no' evidence of actual wear/use of the yellow lozenge.

No further evidence has come to light since the 2010 post. In the interim, I have had gone through LAC documents on the issue of titles and patches in Canada. There is significant documentation dealing with C Force and W Force patches but nothing on the Y Force.
I have a couple of examples of so called Y Force patches in my accumulation. One is definitely a fantasy piece, made up for the market. The other is the proper melton material but is likely a "souvenir" piece. Obviously anyone could make examples of these patches with some yellow melton material.

So it looks like the patches have no written or photographic evidence but persist in collections and written material about collecting.

Here's my pair of melton ones alongside Atlantic and Pacific patches.

Bruce, Do your Y Force patches show evidence of having been worn?

No, they show no signs of ever being used.
