Bearing in mind the nickle plated versions were slated by some but liked by others, here is my example and all good IMO.

I really cannot imagine that they were ever slated by there wearers during the war, I am sure that they had more important matters to consider.

Jerry, the one that I found amusing contained "there is to my knowledge no evidence of the existence of plated AAC badges" or similar!

Indeed, that was why I preceded my posting with the comment I made about some not liking them. I also have two of the plated para regiment badges as well...

I also could not understand those who liked the obvious fake with slider and the leaf over the wing feather. I guess it shows knowledge advances.

Hi Jerry,

I've found a few of those "leaf over wing feather" badges on the web.
They come with lugs and sliders and are mostly offered as reproductions.
Do you know the story behind them?
Are all "leaf over wing feather" badges reproductions?

Regards,

Marinus

They are the most common fake out there, all are bad imo.

Hi Jerry and gents,

Last week the badge on the attached pictures was sold on ebay.
The silver hallmark is on the back of the badge.
It's located on the belly of the bird and not readable on the picture.
I didn't dare to bid.

Regards,

Marinus
