Nice lot BC.

All original that I can see Jack, the 2/6 Armd Regt ones might appear iffy but you often see period 6 Mot Regt examples with the maroon shade instead of scarlet so they are probably good. In fact there are 6 and 7 Mot Regt examples in that lot with the maroon type colour so probably a NSW manufacturing peculiarity.

Interesting oval patch with the vertical split between the blue and the red, incomplete 2/14 Fd Regt perhaps.

hi keith
yeah this was one that had me stumped also and was going to refer it to you.
whats the oval patch with the vertical black and green square?
also interesting to note the variation in the double diamonds. some have complete diamonds side by side, some have overlaping diamonds and then there are the double diamonds but the overlay is one piece not 2

Must have missed that one on the first pass, I don't know. Perhaps it was a trial piece for AIF members of 1 Aust Inf Bn while they were with 10 Aust Div.

The independent company and commando squadron ones would just be manufacturers versions.

Even though I got rid of my collection a dozen years ago I still get a thrill looking at patches. Always something different and I keep updating the book. Might put it out on CD to save costs.
