Default RASC cap badge?

Hi all,

I've just bought this badge thinking it was a cap badge, but now it's here I'm thinking it's too small and must be a collar dog.

However I have an RASC bakerlite cap badge which is also smaller than I expected so I'm really puzzled.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what I have please?

Thanks,

Michael

It looks like a bronze Officers collar badge, to me, not plastic.

Many plastic badges were smaller than the metal ones they replaced.

I would agree that it's an officer's collar.

Plastic badges sometimes also tend to shrink a little with age.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I don't think I've been very clear.

These photos show the bakerlite cap badge I have. I meant I was surprised at this being quite small compared to brass cap badges I have for other regiments. I hadn't realised plastic ones are often smaller than brass ones.

I thought the new badge I have just received was a bit small for a cap badge but wondered if, because the plastic one I have is small, the RASC badge is just a smaller design in general.

I hadn't thought of it being a bronze collar dog so that's good news.

Thanks again for the help everyone.

Michael

The RASC badge isn't a large badge, neither are the plastic ones. BTW, it is not made of bakelite, but cellulose acetate, a plastic.

That's good to know, thanks a lot.

So are all of that type of badge plastic then?
