Women's Home Guard Auxiliary
I recently brought a 3rd Women's Home Guard Auxiliary (plastic) badge.
The 1st has the normal markings to the rear 1-A A STANLEY & SONS WALSALL The 2nd has no markings. The 3rd has the same markings as the 1st but stamped just above the pin fastening to the right is PROV PAT Can you explain please? Is this "PROVISIONAL PATTERN" ?? Thanks, Jerry

It is provisional patent.
Have seen this on wound stripe badge and it appears to indicate that a manufacturer has applied to make a modifiation/change to an item. Document for Wound Stripe .
