South African Air Force insignia?

Hello:
I've had this patch for many years, but have never conclusively identified it.

Is it a blazer patch of some sort?

Could it be the Transvaal Air Squadron, circa early 1930s? Or something else entirely?

Yes - it is the very rare blazer badge of the TATS scheme. I have one and I know of only one other in the SAAF Museum.
The motto translated at "Not for Ourselves Alone" - since the pupils trained under this scheme were subsidized by the government with the understanding that they could be called up for service in times of war.

An interesting badge, which I've not seen before. They substituted the distinctive eagle from the old Transvaal arms for the usual flying eagle. Thanks for posting this image.
