I do remember the QRL officers wearing Bz titles on their coloured jumpers.

According to British Army Badges by R Hodges (2005) officers wore bronzed shoulder titles and they wore silver pouches of constituent regiments, ORs didn't wear pouches.

"The Regiment" issue no. 20, "The Queen's Royal Lancers 1689 - 1997" states that officer's shoulder titles and rank insignia on Service Dress and on the jersey in Winter Barrack Dress are "gun metal" and that the buttons on the shoulder straps of the jersey are of leather.
From a photo shown the shoulder strap button on Service Dress is "shiny", presumably of anodised aluminium. A poor quality photo shows the RSM wearing a pouch described as a silver pouch with a gold ERII cypher with crown above in the centre. The officer's pouch illustrated in "British Army Badges" is similar but with crown over VR cypher. |

G'day Ian
Its a bit hard to tell from the lighting in the photograph, but if the QRL shoulder titles are of officers bronze, well that is correct. I have a couple of pair like this. Re pouch badges, the 17th Lancers used to wear a VR cypher on officers pouches, this continued on up to the end of the QRL period, the last ones being EiiR. with the RL all ranks wear a pouch with an enlarged version of the 16th/5th Lancers and QRL collar badge. Ors in white metal and officers (I believe) in silver. Regards Phil. |

Extract from Dress Regulations 2011
Shoulder Titles. OR’s wear shoulder titles ‘QRL’ which are coloured gold and are 3.5 cm long and 1 cm in height. Officers and WO1s Officers and WO1s wear titles of a similar pattern but are dark bronze in colour and made of gun metal. Tim
