In my understanding, the CGG ball grenade badges of WW1 vintage were lugged, not a slider.

Forum entry M148 shows a "plain" grenade being worn by The Winnipeg Grenadiers, perhaps you have one.

87th battalion CCG
I was going through a photographic record of the 87th battalion CEF...each member of the unit has an individual photo. The first page of the album clearly shows the cap badge with cypher on it.
Until recently I didn''t know I had any family members that served in the great war....A little research found that I did. I was lucky enough that this album had his picture. Dwayne |
