Default Another patch for identification

I've had this one for many years but never known which formation or unit wore it. I would welcome any identification and information on it, please.
A simple black ring on khaki circle.

Which would tend to make it a formation sign rather than a regimental or battalion flash. The design has been used by a number of formations including US I Corps, British Troops Berlin, 29 Indep Bde Gp, Central Command India, 73 Indian Inf Bde and others - but none in that colour combination (as far as I am aware). Thanks Mike,
I agree it must be a formation sign, but as I have had it since the sixties, I shall probably never get it identified now. Many thanks for your input, however. It is much appreciated.
