Default Leicester Regiment Officers Cap Badge.

Hello Chaps, Tigers haven't been on my wants list for quite some time, nonetheless, I was quite interested to see this example, this morning, on the online auction site that we all know and love. It's a bit different to those that I've got, has anyone else got one like this?

Not the finest example of an Officer’s badge sorry Chris.

Cheers Dean

No Dean, it certainly isn't, I'm not thinking of buying it, I'm just wondering if it's the first homemade silver/gilt badge that I've ever seen?

Possibly made by an Indian jeweller. There were two battalions of the Leicestershire Regiment in India and Burma from at least 1944 to 1946.

Personally I like it.

Its authentic and would look good in a Leicesters collection.

best wishes

As a WW2 theatre made badge it would sit with that context in a Tiger’s collection. Cheers Dean

You do occasionally see officer badges with those odd blades on them. I have an Inniskillings with similar blades.
Nice badge.
Cheers,
Alex
