Manchester Pals
A very distressed Manchester Pals cap badge. I think it’s genuine ( notwithstanding the damage)but happy to be corrected.

Looks lovely to me and has definitely seen some action/wear!

The damage almost looks deliberate.

I have a few WW1 badges which have had the top (sharper) elements removed, I wondered if it was because they had been worn on trophy (hate) belts to make it more comfortable and reduce the wear on clothing?

The Manc’s Pals badges seem quite brittle and prone to splitting often around the loops and tails of the supporters.

when the auction price is £85 one wonders what the dealer's mark up would have been! |
