Default NZ Reinforcement badges

Hi all,
furthering JohnG's comments on the NZ 28th Reinf. badge, I thought I'd give some very basic details on these.
The 1st convoy of troopships carried the 'Main Body' of our contingent plus the 1st,2nd & 3rd Reinforcements (these 3 only ,having a badge of 3 Fern leaves with appropriate number on the front.)
Following on after these, the 4th & up to the 17th Reinf. had a variety of badges. Mainly company letters over the Reinforcement number on a variety ( at least half a dozen styles here)of fernleaf wreath frames. Understandabley this creates a lot of variations/combinations( 75+ at a rough estimate.) Some with collars also !!!
18th to 33rd Reinf. had specifically designed badges. Caps & collars. Some similar to the 2nd types also found here.
34th Reinf. onwards , usually the more common ,crowned fernleaf wreath, enclosing letters 'NZ' over a 'Expeditionary Force' scroll. Some also similar to 2nd pattern types here ,again.

'Sweetheart' versions exist for pretty much all of these types, + others also.
This does not include any of the Mounted Rifles or Specialist reinf's here.
This may be of help ,or help to confuse? It's a very big field & can be a little complex also.
Any questions, just ask & I will probably be able to find the answers.

Cheers !
Steve (NZ)
