Default Life Guards named & dated BD tunic

I am in the process of 'rationalising' my collection and considering which items may be worth selling.

Amongst the items that I may perhaps let go of is the attached 1940 Pattern BD tunic, dated April 1941, for a Corporal of Horse (equivalent to S/Sgt or C/Sgt) with the Life Guards. I obtained this several years ago from the son of the original owner.

As the tunic also came with a pair of Guards Armoured Division formation patches, I assume that the original owner served with the 2nd Household Cavalry Regiment; which was part of the Guards Armd Div during 1941-43 and 1945.

Unfortunately, the brass King's crowns and formation patches are absent.

I would be grateful if any members could give me a sense of what this may be worth in the current market?

It is interesting to note the tailoring and immaculate sewing on of insignia (in stark contrast to the stitching on RHA BD tunic posted under 'Artillery').

Anyway, any insights on current value would be appreciated!

Default Corporal of Horse

Hi, Just a little point Corporal's of Horse in the Household Cavalry are the equivalent of a Sergeant and a Staff Corporal is Staff Sergeant.

Thank you for the replies Jimbo and Mark!

Point taken

Although, as I understand it, a Corporal of Horse wears 3 stripes + metal crown, which is the same as badges of rank worn by S/Sgt or C/Sgt in other units, but in terms of rank still only equivalent to a Sgt.
