Default Northumberland Fusiliers - Studio Portrait

I heard Northumberland Fus and I ran all the way

Very nice, no idea of date?

The medal looks a bit like the Afghanistan Medal, except the suspender bar doesn't look right for it. Helpful aren't I?

No idea of date, I'm afraid, Lil. The other pics in the lot are 1908/9-ish, so could plausibly around then, maybe.

taken in India I believe.

[cuff knot on the 5 button IP frock, which was the formal best jacket for cold weather wear]

I think the medal may be the India General Service medal 1908 which would chime with the date 1909/10 - the medal was certainly awarded to one of the NF Battalions (1st Battalion I think)

Spot on, Grumpy. Just noticed the photographer is shown as, 'Herzo & Higgins' Mhow (Central India). Thank you.
