Indian Military Tailors advert.
I thought I'd share this interesting advert, it's in a small booklet, Victory, printed in India & dated June 3rd 1944. Interesting to see Officers Bronze cap badges on the list amongst other things !! Obviously locally made, anyone have anything marked Yousuf & co ??

Interesting, all I have is this: Yousef & Co. LHRCANT (meaning Lahore Cantonments), which is clearly something else.
Maybe as taylors they had their badges made by others. Rgds, fougasse1940. |

I also have a Yousef LCANT marked badge. Lahore is not very far from Ludhiana in the Punjab ( although now Pakistan while Ludhiana is now India ).
There were of course many military outfitters in India, the major ones being British owned firms, others indigenous. CB |

Yousuf & Co. Advertisement
Hi Wilf
As you’ll probably have realised from my postings to the Gaunt advertisements thread I do like these old ads, so many thanks for sharing this one with the rest of us. It would be really interesting to see if we could find out more on both this Yousuf & Co. and the other Yousef & Co., who were badge makers – wonder if there was some kind of connection, despite the spelling difference? Perhaps we have Forum members in the Punjab who could carry out some research? Maybe not, though you never know!! Anyway, thanks again for putting things up, it’s little snippets like this that help put badge collecting in its historic context – something I personally find interesting and enjoyable. Best regards Martin
