Default Possible WWII SAAF Unit badge

Hi,
Picked this up today at the local marked. The construction reminded me of similarly constructed SAAF squadron badges of the WWII era.

It appears to be SAAF with the flying springbok and map with flight path from South Africa to UK via Italy. The scroll above and below the globe reads "VERS JOUR ET NUIT" and translated as 'towards day and night'. The lower scroll reads '9 DET'. I'm not sure what the DET stands for but hazard a guess at 9 Depot or 9 Detachment

Is anyone able to clarify the identity of this badge.

Thanks
Steven
