Iraq Levies
A recent purchase from ebay.Having checked up on these type of badges in Renfrew and Cranston they are shown as Iraq Levies headdress badge, but these are a facing pair.Googled up I.R> and brought up images and on scrolling down there is a picture of RAF rank slides with the dagger below the rank bars. The badges themselves are basically brass and one has the remains of a silver wash on the surface the other has the silver wash remains in patches to the rear. I wolld have thought that Officers badges would be solid silver, maybe mine were for NCOs,at anyrate I would appreciate any thoughts on this pair. Thanks, John.

These are effectively Shoulder Titles as worn by the Iraq Levies, they come in all sorts of designs and decoration. Officers are usually silver and pin fastened. OR's cast brass (from empty cartridge cases) and with cast in lugs. They were worn points down and to the rear.
