Kuwait Army Badges
Gentlemen, I hope some one can help me clear up some questions about Kuwait military badges. The first badge shown is a brass badge which has an eagle and crossed flags and the words Kuwait Army on it. I suspect this is the first Army badge and issued in 1961. The second badge appears to be its replacement (crossed cannons wings and a tank in the centre in brass). When did this replace the 1st type? This brass badge was replaced later by an anodized version. Does anyone know when that was. The next badge (current issue) appears to have replaced the 2nd design by having a larger group of laurel leaves at the base although the central motive is the same. When did that replace the 2nd design. There also exists the Kuwait National Guard raised in 1967. The first badge is similar in design to the Army badge but has crossed rifles as the central motive. Presume this was issued in 1967, but it was later replaced by the final badge which has a large enameled shield in the centre in anodized aluminium. When was this issued? Are their collars to this one as there are to the current issue Army badge? Were metal shoulder titles worn by the Army and National Guard?
