Its not fantasy, it is Polish, I can't remember what unit it is, don't trust my judgement on these things but it looks good to me.

Great badge
1st Polish Rifle Brigade of which there are variant manufactures - some die struck, others solid backed. I bought the flying tiger item illustrated in the link provided by Leigh, but it went missing in the USPS system - never to be seen again ... unless someone knows different. I was given a full refund and was fortunate enough to track down a solid backed item.
Kirkwood and Sons gave me some contacts from whom I found that the badges were sometimes supplied to the Brigade in a 'prefabricated' state to be constructed within unit.
They are heavily reproduced, there are some tell tale signs - PM me if interested.

It is not a parachute qualification badge as sometimes assumed

Mike

Thank you Mike and Leigh , that is very interesting and helpful. I dont know the source of the pictures , they were sent to me by a friend who has a dagger with this badge pinned to the handle.

That would be a very desirable and interesting dagger!
Congratulations on a great acquisition
