Sherwood Foresters? Or one of the commonwealth or OTC units who wore the same basic design of badge?
Or have I walked into a "Gotcha" here?

No Gotcha from me. But big puzzle!!! The boy in the picture was one of the Palestinian (Jewish) Pioneers who were captured by the Germans in Greece and spent four years in captivity. Comments welcome. Perhaps he was in an OTC pre-war?

Serving after release from captivity with 2nd Bn Sherwood Foresters in Palestine, 1945?
Other Bns served in Palestine, I think 1st were there at the beginning of WWII, 5the Bn during the war - it's a job for my google research in the absence of books.
