Default UNIFORMOLOGY website

I noticed today there is a new section called Scarlet into Khaki, and showing the shoulder title change on the shoulder straps.

a very informative website, which is still growing. http://www.uniformology.com/00-MAIN-MENU.html

Looks like more outstanding work by Forum member Toby Purcell

Indeed, Bruce B-P is the owner. Toby Purcell is of course a ‘nomme de guerre’, Google it!
However, Forum member ‘Toby Purcell’ is a major contributor to Uniformology and in particular the section on British Army Forage Caps and Badges and, I believe, the new section Scarlet into Khaki.
‘Toby Purcell’ has posted extensively to this Forum and as ‘Frogsmile’ to the Great War Forum.

Thanks for the explanation Tim , newer forum members may not have been aware of the connection.

Default UNIFORMOLOGY website

In one of the acknowledgements on the website, i have seen named on there

Julian Bowsher (klr), Peter Brydon (PB), and John Mulcahy,
all very well known Forum members with expert knowledge, who pass on information willingly to those of us that don't know or can't remember.

everyone knows something, but no-one knows everything!
regards John

This is a tremendous resource. I look forward to seeing the remaining pages for the new Scarlet into Khaki section.

As a former Royal Welch Fusilier I got the Toby Purcell reference given the avatar (should be shot if I didn't!) but frogsmile... confuzzled I am

I'm aware of a meaning of "frogsmile" but I would imagine it's a little too risque to be the inspiration for Toby's moniker.
It would certainly bring a smile to a lady's face.

clever way to hide the image copying though. I would say they are having the colour photo-shopped out then artificially colouring the badges - makes it hard to spot.

My image copied and colour edited from their site on the left, my original image on the right. I still have this badge.

I think a great many don't care about copyright issues these days, but, it is annoying, I dare say if asked you would have been happy to see your photographs used?
