Correct, the touree is no longer worn at any time. It is gone. The hackle is worn at all times.

One would never remove the hackle and add the touree, unless it was an unscrupulous seller.

The touree has been removed since late 1945.

Can someone clarify for me please - should 1950's dated caubeens have a tourie and / or a hackle?

Hi Leigh, My caubeen is marked 1952 ECHLIN MANUFACTURING LTD WINNIPEG, it's fitted with a KC or's badge it has a tourie but no hackle. regards John

Caubeens were still being produced with the tourie in the 1950s. But think it was removed before wear.

Thanks for that, I have a couple of 1950's dated caubeens, I can't remember the (Canadian) manufacturer offhand, they both have touries, one a Kings crown badge, both have been worn.
