Dorset Yeomanry enamelled cap badge - thoughts?

Good evening

As part of a job lot I recently purchased, included in amongst the other items was this Dorset Yeomanry gilt (I believe)and enamelled badge. I've not seen another like it and when I enquired about it to another collector, he had not seen one either.

Any thoughts on it would be appreciated. Apologies for the quality of the pictures, hastily done on my phone.

My thinking is that it's quite possibly a private purchase or a presentation piece?
