Shoulder Titles - A Surprising Year
Greeting Lads & Lasses,
A we round of the year, like many I often reflect on some of the finds throughout the last 12 months and I for one certainly have no complaints as some lovely treasures have come my way. However and perhaps the most surprising is the three shoulder titles shared here. I must confess that I have never really gotten too excited about shoulder titles and to my embarrassment have perhaps viewed them as somewhat of a 'plain Jane' in the badge world - not any more I'm pleased to say, as these three rare Shropshire related shoulder titles have all been added to my collation during 2016 and I couldn't be happier. A) 13th (Shropshire) Company, 5th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry (also used as a Slouchy badge). B) 11th Company (Oswestry High School) 1st Cadet Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry (I have a pair). C) Shropshire Territorial Royal Horse Artillery 1908 - 1921 (just arrived). Can I ask the membership if You have had any nice 'shoulder title' finds this year? And if the answer is affirmative and you would like to share your best 2016 S/T's here, then I for one would love to see them. Cheerio and here's hoping for some marvelous discoveries in 2017... Cheerio, Roy

It's a long way from Shropshire, but donated by the widow of Maj Gordon Laverick of the Central India Horse 1938-1947 (Iraq, Western Desert, Italy and Greece)

Hi Jerry,
That's a really lovely group there, well done and great to see. Just when I though I had gotten all my 2016 titles, this little beauty just arrived in the mail not twenty minutes ago. Cheerio, Roy

Hi Ian,
Absolutely splendid old chap. Canadian shoulder titles can be some of the nicest designed examples out there. Well done! Cheerio, Roy

Hi BC,
Yes, very pleased indeed but NO don't remove it from the wants list, I have a special interest in this corps. There may be variations out there, so happy to have other examples. Cheerio, Roy
