All,
Have been offered a small gilding metal cap badge to the Duke of Edinburgh's own Volunteer rifles. It has lugs and is an extremely high quality strike.
Just want to know a little more about what to look for in the badges. I know they are making restrikes, but this one certainly does not seem to be like those. Thanks,

South African badges havent been faked as extensively as Brit badges, but as the prices go up there is more incentive for the fakers to get busy. Can you get a good close up pic ( front and especially back) ?

Thanks. I havent got the badge yet, but it is good to know that SA badges have not been faked to death... yet. I believe the badge in question is a good one judging from the exceptional quality of the strike, copper toned gilding metal and weight.
