Can anyone identify this shoulder flash?
Researching family history I came across this photo of 3 British brothers. The flaming torch shoulder badge is unknown to me. Can anyone help?

Agree, it could be a 1st Corps badge. The crease in the BD makes it look like a flame.
1st Corps: All red with white pikehead. 1st Corps Engineers red with 2 blue stripes. Blue background for R.Signals and as above for Artillery. |

Nice clear photograph Drum. I see the lanyard is worn on different shoulders there which may be very proper depending on the Regiment. Is the soldier on the left an officer? I don't think so. I just noticed the outside buttons on the BD. Unusual on a Canadian BD but possible. The battledress with the loose waist(no waistband) bad them. Looks like the UK had them also. Sorry to get away from the original question. this should be another thread. Ray

Ray,these three Gentlemen are probably not Canadians. The man on the left is wearing the pre-ww2 Service Dress uniform which was worn by the British army,by some units, until 1939-1940. As for the man on the right,he is wearing the original Patt.37 BD (in Canada it was introduced in 1939,so it became Patt.39 BD). The 1st Br.Corps patch was worn by British units only.
