Victorian Era Royal Marines Light Inf. Helmet INFO Please
I've typed this twice earlier but could not load pics from my computer so will put them on first and if it works for 2 then will ask question and more pics if you request. Richard
P1010001 - Copy.JPG P1010002 - Copy.JPG I have been on the US Militaria Forum for 10+ years and the Canadian forum a few years less. They told me to post on here as no one had seen a front plate for Royal Marines.with red enamel. I collect USMC WWI and WWII but at times find other countries at estate sales and flea mkt. I like to research them before I sell or trade for USMC. Thanks for any help. |

Hello,
The helmet is badly damaged and been badly stored. The badge has lost all its gilt and gone back to its base metal of brass. I think someone has tried to 'tart'it up with the red backing to the circlet. Is it actually enamel or something else I suspect. If you are thinking of buying it it would have to be very cheap. regards

Can you post some bigger images? These are very small and difficult to see any detail.
Thanks, cheers, Alex |
