"Feet"
Without this being any kind of criticism, this is only an observation, most "feet" are generally covered with braze, however the badge you showed was not, this is why I queried it.
As to the width of the feet which were only used as a means of ease of brazing I have never been given exact dimensions, I believe someone did put these on the forum some years ago, but manufacturing processes can vary. And as for rain, I am desperate for it to arrive on my garden . . ! Rob |

Yes it’s often covered by braze, but as you can see here there’s no room for the braze to pool an build up anywhere.
The torse the bear stands on is thinner than the loop itself, indeed the loop even hangs off it on both badges where it’s affixed there. An exceptionally fiddly braze job in this case I imagine and perhaps that is why the loop was moved higher up onto the bears leg on the believed later bronzed badge. |

A fake in my believe sadly Alan, sorry.
Not commonly encountered but can be found in both Gm and Wm, always slidered in my experience. This pair are from the same die and is sat in my repro box. Next to it a genuine slidered IY badge. The white metal and gilding metal is not correct for the era, nor are the strikes (almost moulded, little detail thick badges but with thin edges) or sliders. The poor quality metal reminds me of the older TF Artillery fakes. Your badge is I believe ex-Frank Whittle collection, sadly he had many Yeo and I.Y. fakes lurking amongst the good stuff which went quickly. Edit: I’m happy to send you mine to compare, I’m sure you’ll reach the same conclusion. |

I had this badge down as a Warks Yeo collar. After reading this thread it looks like anIY cap badge. Is this yet another fake. The details is good but the lugs look footed?
