Queen's Wesminster Rifles Collar Badges
This photo shows a Bandmaster serving with an unknown Battalion of the Queen's Westminster Rifles c.1918.
Can anyone confirm that these are QW collar badges that he is wearing please? They look like a portcullis, so I assume this would be ther same as worn in the centre of the cap badge but I can't find an example of a collar on line to confirm this. Many thanks indeed Peter4447 |

Good Afternoon Peter4447,
From Colin Churchill's book "History of the British Army Collar Badges", on page 235, Fig's 1490 (QVC), 1491, 1492 & 1493 all with KC's, are shown as collar badges for the QW's. Fig 1491 has an additional scroll between the top of the portcullis and the base of the King's Crown bearing the words "South Africa 1900 - 02". All good wishes, Peter |
