Default 1CMR cap badges - Maker Marked.

Hi all,

Just wondering about CEF era, 1 Cdn Mounted Rifles cap badges. According the Charlton reference, there are a number of "marked" examples, "Dingwall, Ellis, Scully, Tiptaft" (and probably others). SO far in 6-8 months of looking for a marked example, I have yet to find any. A relatively common badge in unmarked examples??

Is there any variety/different dies between makers? Again, so far all the examples I have or have come across look to be the same die.

I have had two badges both had different finishes battle brass (blackened brass) and browning both no maker mark.

Not all makers marked their badges! Some makers had different characteristics
Associated with their badges etc.

You might want to contact Chris Brooker.

Cheers
Rob
