Default Mystery MJ badge for ID

I've been asked if I can identify this badge.

I have no photo of the back but was told it has a pin fastening. The owner's grandfather was RE but it isn't something I've seen RE related before. I've tried google but no success.

It may not even be military, anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Bill

Michael Jordan ?

There were various official "Air Jordan" (wings) badges for the Nike trainers , the 'MJ' one could be unofficial or even a fan club item ?
