Motor Machine Gun Section Royal Artillery
I have unearthed some of my photograph albums that do not see the light of day unless I am adding new photographs. These are from my Machine Gun Corps, Tank Corps album.
This lad goes under the unlikely name of Ernest Riley Bomber. In the first photograph, due to him wearing his goggles on his cap, his cap badge is not particularly visible. |

In the second photograph, the cap badge is fully visable.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is that the "small crown" Machine Gun Corps (MGC) cap badge as opposed "large crown"?

The badge is M M G for members of the Motor Machine Gun Service Royal Artillery.
It was formed in 1914, and consisted of Batteries of motorcycle and sidecar combinations carrying Vickers machine guns. It was incorporated into the Machine Gun Corps in October 1915 as the Machine Gun Corps (Motors). Marc

Here is an example of the unorthodox use of a signaller's badge. |
