Smile 21st Lancers QVC

Hi all,

In case you think I just like my infantry here is one I have had for a while, 21st (Empress of India's) Lancers QVC (KK 794). Lance butts trimmed but I think a fine original badge.

Am even going to start a cavalry album! cheers Dean.

It's definently original. I think I've only ever seen a single undamaged version of this badge for sale, they've neraly always got either got missing pennons, butts or jewels.

Thanks Keith, very nice acknowledgment from you as to authenticity, I bought it at a Militaria fair here over 20 years ago and on a table of badges it was a stand out and I was pre K&K back then, cheers Dean.

In my opinion, a very nice original as already said. PY.

Thanks PY,

Have never seen another and sometimes you just wonder if you ever will!

Have a few more period cavalry but nothing quite as special to me as this one, few yeomanry that may be of interest, cheers Dean.

Have a look at Clanfield Militaria, Lew Shotton's site, he's listing one that looks complete to me, although the pictures aren't the best.

Regards
Brian

Brian,

It's an ex -postal auction one but has some jewels missing from the top of the crown, nice that it has complete lances though.

G'day Dean

Hey a great badge, a mate of mine in Melbourne had one like it a few years back, he only collected Lancer badges and had a whole frame of them, including the 3 QVC 21st Lancers badges, however I did not get any he sent them to Bosley's in the UK for sale and did very well.

Regards

Phil.

Hi Phil,

The Forum is a great place to flush out such badges and sightings like twitchers and rare birds!

A frame of lancers badges would be a sight to see, I liked the one that was put together by Hugh King and recently sold at UK auction and recently featured on teh Forum, all QVC cavalry badges.

Australia at times can be good hunting ground for badges with those that came over with ex-service men and women and their families.

Good to be in touch, cheers Dean.
