Default 1 Canadian Parachute Battalion

Perhaps the most repro'd WW2 Canadian shoulder title is the 1 Canadian Parachute Battalion. Literally dozens of different types of copies / fakes are out there. This one showed up about 4 years ago. It is likely a Pakistani made copy. Heavy wool, smells wooly, no glow. Note the crappy uneven embroidery. Was passed off as theatre made. Beware.

Thanks Bill, can you show us what the originals look like?, along with some of the telltale signs to look for. some of the fakes I have seen are so obvious, they are laughable.

Smile "Into The Maelstrom"

Just got my copy of Ken Joyces Book "Into The Maelstrom" What a masterpiece it is. If there was anything you ever needed to know about 1CPB, the answers are in there. I always wondered about the Cdn made embroidered, melton shoulder title with the yellow script,he shows a photo with it being worn, bless him. Get the book, its a beauty!

Right you are Bill. And it should be in the bibliography for Canadian references. Ken Joyce is also working on a book about the First Special Service Force, from a similar perspective as the 1 Cdn Para book.

Talking Ah, My favorite subject unit.

I am looking forward to that publication. If it equals "Into The Maelstrom", it will be one humdinger of a book.
