Default Home Guard badges

I see there are some Home Guard badges that include "PC/1 and PC/2" from the Dad's Army series, although not genuine Home Guard issue no doubt they will sell well due to the popularity of this classic comedy.

Lot 199 appears to have a Marsh Monster (aka golf ball fleece) among its flock... the pre-1924 pattern cap badge. No images of the backs, btw:

Sláinte Mhath!

The buyer will be in need of a big dram when they realise it’s very fake.

Ouch! It went for £110 - a builders bucket of drams needed for the buyer.

The C&T one is quite a common copy which is often on ebay - photo genuine one attached with very different lion. I thought the Cairo silver LRDG was quite convincing? The GMGBn badge @£1950 plus commission must be a world record? Denis

And today there’s a hallmarked one on eBay for £1,000 Buy It Now! (No connection to the seller).

Patience often pays dividends I find in this hobby.

Edit: now sold.

Default c&t

I bid for and won one lot of 12 badges at c&t last year. I did not like any one of them. I rang them to complain that in my opinion all the badges were wrong. They did not argue. Matthew Tredwin one of the original founders of c&t just said send them back and we will refund you which they did without question. In my opinion the only reliable source for genuine badges was Bonhams of Oxford when Dixon- Pickup sorted the badges. Where is he now? He disappeared when Bonhams of Oxford did.
