Help required to identify RAF badge & stripe on lapel
Hi all, I was hoping someone could advise me as to what the badge is on the breast pocket of this mans uniform. Also what the stripe represents on the corner of the lapel.
I apologise for the quality of the photo. Many thanks, Ian |

I suspect that the 'silver stripe' is a tri-colour ribbon of his national flag and the breast badge shows he is a foreign national serving in the RAF.

As he looks to be non aircrew-is it correct that during the war the SD cap was usually worn by police or drivers? Regards, Paul.

Many thanks for the replies. I think the man was posted in the North East of England during the war and your information may help to identify him.

The badge looks like it may be a Czech army badge.
