Default RE: SFHQ patch

Les Hughes’ website, www.insigne.org, has reference articles posted on it that he wrote in the mid-1990s for the quarterly magazine Trading Post, the publication for the American Society of Military Insignia Collectors (ASMIC). He covered this SFHQ patch in one of his articles. You’re right, it seems to be a fantasy patch.

Regards,
Donovan

Default P.S. on the SFHQ patch

Hello again, I thought I should cite the articles wherein the SFHQ patch is mentioned, in case anyone in the future wants to track down the original articles in the Trading Post:

"The SF Wing, Etc.," by Les Hughes, January-March 1989 issue, page 25.

"Another Look at the SF Wings," by M. Albert Mendez, July-Sept. 1989 issue, pages 6-10.

"Another Look at The RAF/SF Wing," by Les Hughes, April-June 1990 issue., pages 69-72.

It pains me to agree that these SFHQ patches are probably fantasy items; I have one, a different color and style than the one shown, that I acquired in the mid-1980s when I started collecting airborne and SF insignia, and I had high hopes it was a real treasure. More proof of the old saying: If something seems too good to be true... it probably is not.

Best regards,
Donovan
